About UsTim Koba, PhD, PES, CES
Founder, Principal My vision has always been to help others reach their full potential. This ongoing interest in creating, acquiring and sharing knowledge led me to the University of South Carolina to complete my PhD in sport management. I research and teach financial management in sport, organizational effectiveness and the business of sport to achieve success on and off the field. My career started as an athletic trainer and strength coach specializing in athletic development. From there, I worked in sports medicine and developed relationships to grow the reach of the program. My interest has been in growth, evolution and data to reach new heights. Part of my interest included athlete, coaching, parent and professional education on cultivating athletic success. An interest in business, finance and organizational effectiveness led to an ongoing pursuit of knowledge. Now, I view my role as the creation, acquisition and dissemination of knowledge. As an Assistant Professor of Sport Management, I train students for a successful and meaningful career in their passion area of the sport industry. In an ongoing effort to prepare for that success, we partner with local organizations to solve problems. This allows students to gain real-world leadership experience with communication, development of initiatives that achieve objectives, evaluation of success and presenting their plan to community stakeholders. |

OUr Approach |
A background in athletic training, fitness and management provides three areas of competencies that when combined provide a dynamic perspective of performance.
Athletic training involves understanding risk, working to decrease known risks, evaluation, rehabilitation and reintegration along with communication. Fitness and strength involves assessment, planning and progressive programming, evaluation and incremental improvement Sport management involves strategic and financial planning, organizing, leading and evaluation. Problem solving is then understanding the environment, the objectives and creating programs to create or enhance a competitive advantage, implementing that program, utilizing ongoing evaluation and making adjustments to achieve specified objectives. |
